This sweet baby doll is a vintage doll from Denmark. The back of her neck has the inscription "dvp" and "made in Denmark". I do not know the year she was made. Danika has beautiful brown sleep eyes that open and shut. Her complexion is a wonderful tan skin tone that could make us all a little envious. Honestly, Danika looks more Spanish or Italian than Danish, but to make more exotic looking dolls with darker skin tones was very popular with some of the German and Danish doll companies in the 70's and 80's. Danika measures 20 inches from head to toe. She has 3/4 vinyl limbs and a soft stuffed cloth torso. She is proudly wearing a new wig, which I think complements her beautiful skin tone nicely. Her outfit is not original. I have dressed her in  a pink and white ginham dress with a white collar and floral embroidery. Her pink sweater features the same embroidered flowers. To complement her outfit, she is wearing a matching pink headband. Danika is a free spirit and refuses to keep any shoes on her feet. She firmly told me that she needs to be able to wiggle her toes, which is impossible in uncomfortable doll shoes. Plus, "Who needs shoes in this South Carolina weather anyhow - It's not like we're in Denmark!"
Ok, there you have it. Danika definitely has her own mind about things. Her new mommie can decide how to settle the shoe issue. Hurry and order this sweet little thing. She is one of a kind!
